J. Wilkes Faithful:
In an ongoing attempt to keep you aware of fun events and chances to eat and drink with our winemaker, we intend to publish a list of public events that you can attend each month.
July included a lot of private events and Wes making a trip to a technical wine symposia in Oregon.
So currently, there is only one public event/tasting on the books, but it’s a REALLY GOOD ONE:
I will be speaking on the History of Wine and pouring J Wilkes Wines at the following event, and hope to see local Angeleans in attendance to learn how important Los Angeles Wine was in the Mission Era through the mid 19th Century, and what’s happening today! Come see the Avila Adobe grapevine–the oldest producing grapevine that I know of in the Americas! (It will be celebrating its 200th Anniversary in 2018!) We will likely have enough wine (Angelica, fortified) made from this ancient vine so you can taste it! The rarest wine in the world?
July 20th, Thursday, Avila Adobe, Pueblo, Olvera Street Los Angeles, CA:
